Smithsonian Institute: Museums to Enrich Your Mind

The Smithsonian in Washington, DC has been inspiring generations through discovery and learning for over 170 years.   • What’s the best way to get to the museums?

    The Smithsonian Information Center is located at 1000 Jefferson Dr., SW, Washington, DC. Ten of the Smithsonian museums span a 1-mile area from 14th to 3rd Streets between Independence Avenue and Constitution Avenue. Most museums are within walking or biking distance of each other on or near the National Mall. All are accessible by public transit, which you can catch near the hotel. 
  • Is there dining at the Museums?

    Absolutely. There are a wide variety of food carts, cafes, and even multiple food courts on property.  Pick up quick bites on the National Mall side of the Air and Space, American History, and Natural History museums, and the Smithsonian Castle. Enjoy casual fare at the Courtyard Cafe, Sweet Home Cafe, McDonald's, Jazz Cafe and many others sprinkled throughout the museums.
